There are a lot of websites available on the internet these days and we all use them for different purposes. These websites are present on the internet and to us because of the website hosting providers. The website hosting is very essential to the websites. If you don’t buy a hosting plan you will not be able to make your website live.

There are many website hosting providers present on the internet and they offer different resources to the users. They offer different packages which include different products in them. GoDaddy has been in this industry for a very long time and they are considered as one of the finest companies when it comes to providing hosting services. There are some advantages and disadvantages of buying GoDaddy. These are explained below.

Pros of using GoDaddy Hosting

GoDaddy has been in this industry for around 20 years and they are considered as one of the best. They have much more money than many countries and this is because of their good services.

  1. Good Uptime with 99.96% of success rate

People who have some knowledge about the web hosting recognize that the good uptime is very important when we purchase a hosting plan. Even if you didn’t know it before then you should keep the uptime of a hosting provider in mind. GoDaddy is considered as a good web hosting provider as they offer an average uptime of 99.96% over the past months.

This is considered to be a good uptime for any web hosting provider. GoDaddy has been hosting many great websites over the past few years because of the great uptime that they offer.

  1. Great Page Speed

When your website is live and you are expecting visitors on your website, you need to make sure your provider offer great page speed. One of the things that are hated by everybody is bad page speed. So, if your website pages take a lot of time to load then you will have very few visitors on your website.

Many studies have shown that bad page speed results in fewer sales and less revenue. GoDaddy offers very good page speed for your website and they don’t let you and your customers down. If you are interested to have a great page speed then GoDaddy is a good choice because they have very great average of page speed.

  1. Additional Services Thrown In

Many people just know GoDaddy for website hosting and domains but they don’t know that GoDaddy has everything for you. GoDaddy offers a lot of products for the people interested in running small businesses.

GoDaddy has different products where you can hire an expert to work for you on your website and help you focus on the things that you are good on. All you need is to add these products into your cart and pay for them. You can have help regarding every issue if you pay for it.

Cons of GoDaddy

So far so good, right?

The value of GoDaddy has been rapidly increasing since the past few years. However, at the same time it has been found that there are some drawbacks of using the services that makes it hard to manage the benefits that comes with the services. That is why before planning anything it is important for you to understand all drawbacks that you might have to face while using GoDaddy.

But we did have a few issues. Here is the biggest:

  1. Lowest Priced Plan is Expensive & Limited

One thing that we all look for is an economical price. GoDaddy is not considered a reasonable company when it comes to their pricing. They charge a lot for very less. Their basic plan costs 7.99 dollars and it doesn’t include any of the basic products in it.

You can host a single website in this plan, which is acceptable. But not having any of other products like backup and SSL is not good for that much price.

  1. The number of Upsells might be surprising with High Renewal Fees

We just mentioned the SSL certificate above. This SSL certificate is very important for every website these days. This certificate guarantees that the website is safe to share your personal information like passwords etc.

If you don’t have this certificate, people might not share their personal information on your website even if it is important. This is why many providers have made these certificates available for free but GoDaddy charges an extra fee for that. Moreover, you also have to pay for the emails that you generate for your website.

These costs make it very costly to manage a web hosting. There are other providers who offer all this for free.

  1. Sketchy Money-Back Guarantee

Many people think that the terms and policy of a company are good enough to trust them. But there are many companies that have policies that look good to us but they mean something written in the fine print.

This is very much true in case of the GoDaddy’s policy. They mention that the money is refundable with the annual hosting plan. But in the fine print they state that: “In case the hosting has been already done you will not be able to get your money back. In case the hosting services have not been given you can get your money back within 30 days of the date of transaction.

This statement is very confusing and we could not understand the meaning of, “Hosting service has already been performed” in any way.

  1. Mixed Reviews on Tech Support

Another issue with the GoDaddy is that they have very mixed reviews about their technical support. You might find a good answer for your query related to some long technical issue. But you will not find a simple query like the refund one mentioned above.

Do We Recommend GoDaddy?

We all know that GoDaddy is well known amongst everyone. They offer great uptime and page speed but that doesn’t make them the best providers. You will have a great first year with them but then you will have to pay 2 to 3 times of the initial price onward. This is because of the hidden fees they include.
